The academic program is organized on a
180-day school year with 5 periods per day of 80 minutes each.
All classes meet on average for 3 hours per week. ISS aims to
provide a balanced curriculum. While the accredited bodies

The
middle school program is based on the University of Cambridge
International Lower Secondary curriculum leading to IGCSE
examinations and vocational qualifications, supported by
curriculum frameworks from the UK, U.S.A., Canada, Australia,

prepare all students for academic success at a high school
level. Our upper high school program in grades 11, 12, and 13
follows the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Independent Study
High School Diploma Program. The school also provides
benchmark testing for all students from non-English speaking
backgrounds. The delivery of language and literacy programs
follows the structured Cambridge ESOL examinations
courses.
