The INTERNATIONAL SECONDARY SCHOOL Study Support Service provides all international school students in Tokyo with an opportunity to work one-on-one with fully qualified and experienced educators. Our service provides instruction in many academic areas including Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Foreign Languages, Language Arts, and elective subjects. TOEFL and SAT preparation courses are also available. All lessons are conducted at the school and are available Monday to Friday, 4:00pm 8:00pm.
Students from Non-English speaking backgrounds are placed in ESL classes where
they work through structured ESL programs that lead to formal qualifications through the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations. Students also undertake core and elective mainstream subjects and are fully supported in a small classroom environment.
Our Special Education services are designed to assist students who are deficient in areas such as reading comprehension, written expression, language, mathematics, social skills and task related skills. Information from neuropsychological evaluations, diagnostic tests, work samples, and student / parent interviews assist the faculty in developing an Individual Education Plan. Our small school environment, experienced staff, explicit instruction, and curriculum development ensure that the needs of students are addressed.
